Interesting commemorative medal with beautiful ship in attractive condition issued under George V (1911-1936) rule with portrait of Edward Prince of Wales dedicated to His visit to South Africa during 30, April - 29, July 1925 on occasion of attending Cape Town. The dies were cut by famous engraver Percy Metcalfe. The medal is an excellent example of the early portrait of Edward, who 11 years later became the King Edward VIII with very short period of rule (326 days) and whose portrait on coins that tiem essentially differs. Numista catalog indicates Rarity index: 82, out of 100, which means, that the item is rare.
