Interesting type with allegory of Liberty in attractive condition! It is one of the longest emission in the modern world. Recently two main groups of emission were found.


Obverse

Die 1 from model 1879 - large central dots in decorations, nostril with a curved back line, half of left pearl in diadem hidden behind hair.

Die 2 - small central dots in decorations, thin nostril, left pearl in diadem far from hair.


Reverse

Die A from model 1879 - all details thick, top of the tail of 2 wide.

Die B - reengraved, all details thinner and further from each other, midribs of each leaf well defined, top of the tail of 2 sharp.



This coin is attributed as 2+A and represents transition from type 1+A, commonly known till 1981 to type 2+B, which appeared in 1982.
