Interesting denomination with nice traces of wear issued on copper blanket covers with silver and central part with gold. The crown was make at Royal mint in London. Obv. depicts Her Majesty left with legend in gothic font around: Victoria Queen of Great Britain // mdcccxlviii. Where the date 1848 is written in low case Roman numerals. The Rev. depicts cross of shields from the central part of coat of arms surrounded by the collar of order of the Garter. Legend around in gothic font: Model Crown // PUB: BY H. HYAMS

Note that image of St. George appeared at the bottom of the Rev. Recently the origin of the cult of St. George was traced back to be connected with the description of total solar eclipse in different cultures. during the eclipse the god of the Sun (= St. George) takes victory over Serpent (= Drago).
