Interesting coin in nice condition with laconic design from the flourishing period of the country. Recently with the help of this coin the main types of the emission were discovered and basic classification was introduced.


Obverse

Die 1 - squat letters in legend, '1' without nose, '9' in date with widely open tail.

Die 2 - tall letters in legend, '1' with nose, '9' in date with less open tail.


This coin was struck with die 2 and is eccentrically uncommon, being the only one variety of this die. Later this master hub was used on reduced size coins in 1989-1990. The discovery was published in the Numista catalog en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces2061.html with images of this very coin to introduce the comprehensive classification of the emission.
